Product details for identification purposes: |
BH/BJ -These are pole mount cross cabinets fabricated of un painted aluminum and galvanized steel. The cable stubs exited the cabinet from either the top or bottom or a combination of both. An aluminum ID tag was normally riveted to one of the doors and contained the product name and pair count. |
SAC Cabinets - cabinets containing three terminal fields ( 600-5400 pairs) These cabinets are normally painted aluminum construction and are mounted to a concrete pad. The terminal fields are made up of 50 or 75 pair blocks with a space between each 25 pair block because the 25 pr blocks are actually made out of separate 25 pair blocks put together. An Aluminum ID tag is riveted on the front of the cabinet just below the cabinet doors. |
BTS ( NEW) - cabinets containing either a single terminal field or two side by side fields in a parallel configuration with pair count of 200 to 1800 pairs. The word "NEW" designates that these cabinets were equipped with the same configuration of 25 pair blocks put together as described in the SAC series of cabinets. These cabinets have a rectangular aluminum ID tag riveted on to the front of the ground line base cover just below the cabinet doors. |
BTS Old Style -These were pad mount cabinets with two terminal fields and made of the single block design like the pole mount cabinets, special tap shoe screws will have to be installed to accommodate the tap shoe attachment screws. CAI Mounting Screw Part #TP2106 |
Note: Some of the very early "CAC" (Communications Apparatus Company) cabinets did not contain plastic molded terminal blocks. Instead they were equipped with a flat Phenolic board with brass terminals pressed into the board material. Front Tap Shoes may have never been designed for these old styles. |
